Newly Trumped “Great Again” America & The World’s Open Letter Response

The worst form of social injustice and inequality is playing before our eyes through the “new American” Trump ideology and has provoked a counter- revolution against it not just in America but around the world.
I say “new American” because Donald Trump is actually revealing to Americans and the world at the dawn of his presidency just what he meant by his campaign motto “making America great again”. I believe it is just the beginning of the unfolding of more of what in his mind constitutes making America great again.

He started his first few days in office by revealing that the way forward for America to be great is to (and this is condoned by a group of people who like himself and his advisers justify it all with their Christian faith)

ban selected

-groups of refugees (those in extreme danger -Syrians)

In future, asylum seekers who are from minority groups such as Christians (as the president himself stated) will be given preferential treatment.

-nations (seven) with a certain religion majority (Islam).

This is very telling and what the bible says is true “Ye shall know them by their fruit” (Matthew 7:16 KJV)
Whether the ban is for 90,120 days or forever Donald Trump at the beginning of his presidency is expressing the foundation stone of his Presidential ideology and indeed there is more to come.
Division, fear, mistrust and hatred are key “American Administration” words of this “new American” Trump ideology.

Masses are labelled (even green card holders and those with valid visas) by virtue of their race, nationality and religion as potential terrorists and untrustworthy.

All are branded guilty unless proven innocent at some point. The question is how and when will this label be taken off once it is placed? Many will have to go through shame and be stripped off their dignity due to being falsely labelled because the rationale is that America must be “made great” at all cost and so in a manner of speaking “to hell with how anyone is affected and who disagrees”

Many people of a certain sort are suffering rejection, emotional hurt, anger and rage, why ? because they are accused indirectly without proof, of being potential agents to prevent the greatness of America! This trend is likely to continue in the newly Trumped America regardless of UN Refugee regulations and the US constitution and laws in relation to immigrants, refugees and the green card. What the President wants is what must be obeyed period! Those who are racists, white supremacists and are given to expressing hatred for Moslems are in an era of empowerment as never before through Trumped America. I am sure they cannot believe their luck!

I read the following article (an excerpt) in the Independent newspaper online which reveals how people all over the world have responded to “Trumped America”:

More than four million people sign global open letter to Donald Trump in wake of ‘Muslim ban’
Dear Mr Trump, this is not what greatness looks like.

By Loulla-Mae Eleftheriou-Smith | Tuesday 31 January

…The letter, hosted on petition platform Avaaz, was posted following the announcement of Mr Trump’s “Muslim ban”.

The petition shows people adding their name to the open letter in real time with their nationality, with fresh people from all over the world signing it every few seconds.
The letter reads:
“Dear Mr Trump

This is not what greatness looks like.

“The world rejects your fear, hate-mongering, and bigotry. We reject your support for torture, your calls for murdering civilians, and your general encouragement of violence. We reject your denigration of women, Muslims, Mexicans, and millions of others who don’t look like you, talk like you, or pray to the same god as you.

“Facing your fear we choose compassion. Hearing your despair we choose hope. Seeing your ignorance we choose understanding.

“As citizens of the world, we stand united against your brand of division.”

  1. I won’t carry on this conversation because you are acting as if you know me when in fact you are making assumptions and drawing to conclusions of who I am as a person. You are entitled to your opinion. My Christian beliefs are not influenced by any race, continent or people group but by my relationship with God/Jesus and understanding over the years of Scripture. Yes I am black & I have a foreign name but I am a unique individual as you are too, I would not sum you up as representing a certain race or people even without knowing you! As stated I know millions of white people who agree with me so your “theory” about why I lack understanding does not hold.
    Let us agree to disagree.

  2. Reading your reply again, perhaps you don’t know much about Refugee management world wide most countries do not place refugees in camps like prisoners, the UK does not do that nor do most European countries. They do put asylum seekers in residencies while their case is under review which I am sure America does too, until their case is agreed upon and then they are housed properly etc.. you are wrong in assuming America grants refugees more privileges than any other country. Once Refugees are accepted in countries world wide they have access to much that is available in the countries they are in. Please do your research and don’t just attempt to find reasons or repeat what you have been told to justify Trump’s actions. Most refugees have real reasons why they should flee their countries (e.g Syria), and if one tells me that their Christian heart (bible, sense) is provoking them to reject the plight of suffering people and ban them at a whim, I would tell them their lying! I know what the bible truly says about interpersonal relationships and how we should treat the poor and suffering.

  3. My name and my picture… oh you mean because I am black and I have a “foreign” name I don’t understand. So as far as you are concerned understanding Trump equates being white or Caucasian .. for your information, there are millions of white peoples without foreign names who agree with me. I was never an immigrant in any country my father worked for an International company and this is how I found myself in Europe, I also lived in America when growing up. Many justify what Trump is doing by the Christian faith (himself, his advisers and most of those who agree with him), but his actions are unwise and totally unChristian. My article is motivated by my Christian understanding or I suppose according to you because I am black and I have a foreign name even that does not count?
