At the Passover table
for the sake of his
remembrance,
Jesus commanded
his disciples saying
eat the bread;
“…my body which is
broken for you”,
drink the wine;
“…the new
testament in my blood:”
At the Passover table,
I, his disciple obey his
command:
my eating of the bread, his body
is the crushing of my enemy,
my drinking of the wine, his blood
is the draining away of my sin.
In Jesus, the Passover Lamb,
I pass over from death to life
for the curse is broken,
and death is forsaken.
At the Passover table,
eating,
I no more hunger
for worldliness.
Drinking,
I no more thirst
for sinfulness.
For in the Pass Over,
I have resurrection life.
“25Jesus said… “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. 26Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25 WEB)
