The Most Profound Thing: Simplicity in Christ.

Prophet Bobby Conner said God told him “Bobby, the most profound thing you can do is maintain simplicity”(1)

That is what I aspire in life, however simplicity in Christ does not mean being weak or powerless, for when we are weak, our God Elohim is strong. His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinth.12:8-10).

When we maintain simplicity in our Christian walk, it means we are determined to let God have His way. He promised to make a way where there seems to be no way and that promise is for believers in Him today as it was for the ancient Israelites (Isaiah 43:19).

Our God also speaks to us in His word saying “5Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Prov. 3:5-6 NLT).

Simplicity in Christ also means that we have chosen to take God at His Word how ever difficult it is to understand or make sense of, because He, Yahweh is the one and only wise God we is faithful and does not disappoint (Psa.25:3/Romans 10:11).

We can only achieve a life that is simple yet powerful if we abide in Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit who knows the mind and will of God, testifies of Christ and teaches us.(2 Corinth. 2, John 14:26/John 15:26).

Yeshua told us to come to him as little children. If we obey him it means we trust and depend on God daily. Simple Christian living is living a life void of “tearing our hair out” trying to make things happen or fix what is broken. It therefore reaps peace and assurance to the “simple child” that their Heavenly Father is in absolute control of their lives.

Cultivating simplicity in every area of our lives speaks of a surrendered life that aspires to be humble as Christ and is the only way to sustained intimacy with God.

God’s Pure Words vs Our words

The Words of The Lord are pure Words as Silver tried in the furnace of the earth purified seven times! (Psa.12:6). That is how perfect the Word is!

Let us think of every word we say and action before we do it and ask ourselves, what does the LORD say about this in His pure, perfect Word?

Will my speech and action be pleasing to Him who called us from darkness into His Light, through Christ Yeshua our redeemer the Light of the World?

“16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (Col 3:16-17)

Poem: His Words

Pure Pure Pure

Are the words of the LORD.

Sweet as the Honeycomb to

yielded hearts of integrity.

True True True

Are the words of the LORD,

fragranced with the scent of grace that only seekers of truth can appreciate.

It is time to push through, no holding back for you have all at your disposal “the tools”, the “know how” and anointing.

The strategies have already been planned before time, what is left is for you to ADVANCE and shake off all that is holding you back.

18Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

19Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit 20teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.(Matthew 28:18-20))

Plain Speaking…

Cultivating the “Others Matter to God, so they Matter to me” lifestyle

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less”

Learning to consider others before ourselves selflessly does not mean we must demonstrate false humility or put ourselves down to make them feel good. It means as we know who we are in Christ, our sense of worth in Him, we are ready to be His vessels to bless others. We are not constantly self-focused and rather focused on meeting other peoples’ needs for love, care and provision.

If we are to be honest with ourselves it is not a lifestyle that we embark on easily and consistently. However it is what God requires of us.

God says that we must not only love Him, but “Love your neighbour as yourself” the second greatest commandment (a revelation that interpersonal relationships are of uttermost importance to God). If we receive His love and say we love Him, then it means we love ourselves as much as He loves us.

Now here is the test, are we willing to just stay in that cosy “God loves me & I love Him” mindset or to demonstrate the same kind of selfless love with which He first loved us towards our neighbor? Here neighbor means simply our fellow human being. When we are unable to love others for whatever reason do we just ignore our weakness in this area, avoid these people and carry on in life? This avoidance is detrimental to our relationship with God for as John the Apostle said “how can you say you love God if you hate your brother”.

God does not even care about our offering to Him if we have not made peace with others who are offended by us (Matt. 5:23-25).

We must address our inability to extend love, care towards others before Him; speaking to Him about it in true honesty, dealing with issues of un-forgiveness, offense or bitterness asking Him to change our hearts towards others. We will do this if we desire to demonstrate our love for Him & Yeshua by obedience to His commandments (i.e to love others) so that His presence/glory will remain with us (John 14:23).

God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Thus the proud cannot enter into His rest or be in His presence for they are disobedient & resist chastening (see teaching on Chastening Jubilee Herald Newsletter Sept. 2015).

May we be intentional in setting our minds on others, starting with the brethren as God did for us through Yeshua by

-demonstrating selfless love; simply making time to listen to others, giving to help them in times of need and sharing what we have with them. This is true Christianity or “True Fast” (Isaiah 58 – see teaching “Church of the end times” Jubilee Herald July 2015)

-confessing our sins & weaknesses in prayer so as to be cleansed (1 John 1:9) and stay under His grace as well as

-praying for the fruit of the Spirit of God which includes love.

The Acts of Christlike (selfless) Humility towards others is God’s love demonstrated.

Eagle’s Wings

As you wait on our precious LORD remember this: Those that wait upon The LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary and walk and not grow faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

The LORD is saying to you that He will respond when you wait upon Him and you will be

1.Energised by His Holy Spirit able to soar into greater heights and deeper depths in God!

I saw written somewhere the following “an eagle uses the storms to reach unimaginable heights..Let us also use the storms of our lives to reach greater heights spiritually”

Therefore whether we are in a time of peace and just needing some encouragement or refreshing (i.e from tiredness) or in serious problems “storms”, as long as we wait on the LORD or remain abiding in Him, our inner man will be strengthened and uplifted. Waiting on the LORD is therefore abiding in Him.

This means that we do not focus on the greatness of the problem or how low we might be feel, but on God who can change the situation and how we feel. We abide by engaging in bible study and praise to encourage ourselves in the Lord.

Personally I deliberately listen to testimonies of how God has changed people’s lives or circumstances. This has gone a long way to taking my eyes of my worries or problems and fixing them on Jesus.

When King David was going through all his struggles, one thing noteworthy is that he was his own great encourager in the LORD and that is what I say to myself “I have to be my own greatest encourager in the LORD”

2.Blessed exceedingly abundantly more than you can ever ask or think! Blessed in your personal lives and even more blessed because you are a source of blessing for others.

As you wait upon Him through bible meditation and worship what you receive from Him will cause you to be as a permanently TURNED ON TAP with an unending flow of the river of His anointing “life” blessing and healing individuals, communities and nations.

This is because, sisters and brothers, the power of the Word of God and praise within you, which served to encourage and so uplift you cannot be contained!

Jesus said “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38 KJV)

Many people say they believe in Jesus and some might well do and so be filled with the Holy Spirit but they are still in a spiritual desert, why ? Because that belief is not being exercised to the point of transforming them by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit only responds when we call on God through Jesus Christ or when we seek hIm for fellowship. If Christians are not in fellowship with the Holy Spirit and so not “soaring” for their own sakes, how can they be God’s lifeline for others?

I say:

1Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.2For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

3And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.4Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at [thy] side.

5Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.(Isaiah 60:1-5)

“Arise & Shine, Blessed one”!

“Then spake Jesus ..saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”(John 8:12)

As you wait upon the LORD also be reminded the powers of darkness tremble and flee because they cannot withstand the Light of God within and around you.

Therefore soar to greater heights and deeper depths in Him.

“We Never Give up” 2 Corinth. 4:16

Brethren, I want to encourage you today; whatever you are doing for God continue with fervour let no one discourage you. If people don’t appear to respond or take notice, I say God takes notice.

You are planting seeds in the earth and hearts more than you realise; God’s word is “living and powerful” and brings change in the atmosphere and peoples lives for Jesus is the Word, the fruit bearing shoot out of the branch of Jesse/Judah.

Through Christ, he who became a curse for you (Gal 3:13), working in you in the power of the Holy Spirit, you are fulfilling your mandate as according to God’s promise; as Abraham’s seed (Gen. 12:1-3/Gal 3:13-14), therefore a blessing to multitudes.

Continue to be a witness for Christ, a labourer in his vineyard whether through evangelism, preaching, writing, engaging in charitable acts, giving financially to spread the gospel. God sees and your reward in the here and now as well as in eternity is great. Walk by faith and not by sight! Do exploits for God who reigns and lives in you through Christ!

Paul the Apostle spoke of the zeal, steadfastness and perseverance with which he and others engaged in ministry for the sake of the saints, I quote for your encouragement:

“13But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, “I believed in God, so I spoke.”14We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. 15All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.

16That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits aree being renewed every day. 17For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” (2 Corinth. 4:13-18 NLT)

God bless Deborah
