That Season of Life & Our Response

If your life is totally surrendered to God and if you are living in that intimate place with Him to the best of your ability, know that if people don’t appear to see or consider you or they ignore you then it is not the work of man but of God.

Consider David in the bible, he was left to tend to sheep and was not even considered as worthy to be called when Samuel asked his father Jesse to assemble his sons, one of whom was chosen by God to be the future king of Israel. God intervened and Samuel was called and anointed as king.

God has planned different seasons for us in our lives. Every season comes with God’s divine reasons for orchestrating events the way He does. As with the weather, “climatic” conditions in relation to each season in our lives differ. We need to be sensitive and take every season as they come.

When we are not the centre of attention, nor included among the good and the great our perception and understanding of such times will determine our emotional state, attitude and therefore our reaction.

May God help us to adequately discern the different seasons of our lives so that we do not fret or act on our own accord to our detriment but rather remain in His peace. Before people can see us as God does the timing must be perfect so that what they expect from us and how we respond is in line with God’s plan for us.

In order to respond to people and circumstances as God requires is only possible if we have a close relationship with God and we allow Him to take us through the different seasons of our spiritual development.

Let us rest assured that as in David’s case when God’s time for us to be taken out of obscurity, chosen from among many for a purpose, God will strategies to bring it to pass. After all He who trains us knows when we are ready to display His splendour. There is no need for us to help him do so.

All the seasons of hiddenness in God are good for us; David was tending to sheep, but what only David and God knew was that God was also tending to David’s character.

David had a good time in God’s presence; worshipping and fellowshipping with God in the stillness of the fields as a shepherd.

He was alone but not lonely. He had much time to sing and pray to a God he became confident was his “refuge and fortress” (Psa.91:2) a God he could trust.

Indeed, David had been in danger on more than one occasion as the lion and bear came to attack his sheep. God gave him not only supernatural joy which was his strength but also physical strength to fight and overcome the lion and bear. In the valley of the shadow of death, David said “I will fear no evil for you are with me your rod and staff, they comfort me”. (Psa.23:4).

Onlookers including David’s oldest brother (1 Sam 17:28) saw him as this “good for nothing except for sheep” young boy. Other people’s perception of David did not stop him from fighting Goliath and killing him. If you know your worth in God and trust Him wholeheartedly as indeed David did, it should not stop you from pursuing and fulfilling your destiny.

In the fields as a shepherd boy, David became a profoundly God trusting, confident and fearless young man who was totally surrendered and reliant on God. He was therefore prepared for the next seasons of his life which included confronting and killing the giant Philistine, Goliath when no one could. He was also prepared for the many years of warfare with and affliction from enemies far and near. This was until he become King of Judah then Israel.

Even during those times of hardship fleeing from Saul and his son Absalom, David remained close to God. The solid foundations in God, built in the season when he was an inconspicuous shepherd boy were what kept David’s life from crumbling.

God longs to spend time with us daily to either revive us spiritually, impart his will or plans to us or both. But there are also prolonged times or seasons when there is more of a stillness in our lives than is usual and a pull towards focusing on our relationship with God.

It is important not to ignore these seasons which require more time meditating on scriptures as well as praying and fasting for renewal and growth necessary for the next stage of our lives.

Be blessed and highly favoured in every season of 2021

They are Poor

They are poor for hatred is as a spider’s web knotted in their hearts choking the breath of life like a hangman’s noose.

They are poor…clothed in exquisite taste, but to the trained eye mere ghoulish attire.

Knitted together with cohorts, they spew venom on this person and that.

They are poor yet know not, for all they have is money, all they have is property, all they have are names on rich lists.

All they have is nothing..

Nothing to show before the judge of life,

Nothing of eternal value for a handshake by the Father of Lights.

Nothing… in their money vaults called poverty.

Absolutely Nothing…

Unwrapped for God’s Glory

Tell the Story of how God gave His Gift to be unwrapped for His glory.

The Gift of the Son of God born unto us, Son of man given unto us so that every day is Christmas for some man, woman and child who unwraps the gift of God

Men who unwrap to be un-trapped to become wrapped in God’s glory.

Thank you God for the story of Jesus who gave gifts to men.
The gifts of callings, the Holy Spirit so that every day is Christmas for some man, woman and child who unwraps the Gift of God
We praise God for men who are sorry, And released from worry to become His Glorious Story.

GOD’S GIFT : KING OF THE JEWS
1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him….
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. 10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. (Matt.2:1,2,10-11 KJV)

In This Season

In this season of festivity,

where shopping is in abundance,

let love spill and share with those in lack and deemed irrelevant.

In this season of nativity,

where carol singing is in abundance,

let minds be still and focus on Christ as Saviour, the reason for this season of Joyance.

The Angel Gabriel said of Mary to Joseph “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matt.1:21)

In the Humble Son, We see Father God

google pic

Born again Christians who are truly committed to living a life in God have embraced this season of Christmas as a time to meditate on the great love God bestowed upon us when He came in the person of Jesus Christ to save us from sin.

Jesus’ humble and lowly background and nature was a deliberate plan of God and from it we are able to know and understand the nature and attributes of God, some of which are:

1. HE IS EXALTED BUT HUMBLE (NOT PROUD).

“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” (Phil. 2:6-8 KJV).

The creator, God almighty came into the world as Jesus born to humble parents who could not afford to rent a house when he was born but rather sought accommodation in an inn.

The inn was full. For the time that his parents stayed in Bethlehem, baby Jesus (God as man) was placed in a manger which is a feeding trough for livestock. No doubt his parents slept close by in the humble and inconspicuous abode where this manger was which is likely to have been a place where animals resided.

What is God saying to us? The fact that God in the person of Jesus came to identify with humanity is clear, but the emphasis is on the fact that he was one of those that people pass by on the streets without giving a second glance; He was through his parentage of a low status or ranked insignificant in society.

Brethren, God could have chosen a well to do family even from among the descendants of David or Aaron as Jesus’ parents rather than Joseph (David’s line) and Mary (Aaron’s line), however God did not.

If Jesus’ parents were well off or rich they would never have taken refuge in an abode where animals were kept especially not with their baby!

Even Mary as she sang unto the Lord, expressed herself as one of “low estate” being blessed of the Lord and therefore “from henceforth generations shall” call her blessed (Luke 1:47-48 KJV).

2. HE RESISTS THE PROUD BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE (James 4:6 KJV).

As Jesus grew up, he trained to be a carpenter (a humble, manual job) not a Rabbi educated by sitting at the feet of a Rabbi of his day. However he had God’s wisdom from a very young age and is said to have taught as a boy who had authority not as the scribes (Matt. 7:29 KJV).

Brethren, there is nothing wrong with being educated to degree or even doctorate level, as long as you do not think that because you are well learned what you know grants you enough wisdom so that you do not need to seek the wisdom of God.

The greatness of God’s wisdom is incomparable to man’s because “This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans,…” (1 Corinth.1:25 KJV)

Jesus is the personification of God’s wisdom. If we have Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, abide in him and he in us, we have access to God so as to know his ways (wisdom) as we gain knowledge of Him through His word and by supernatural revelation. He is also well able to give us understanding of His wisdom and knowledge as we abide in Him.

3.GOD LOVES HIS CREATION, REGARDLESS OF GENDER, RACE, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CLASS.

Jesus grew up among the poor and lowly, therefore he was used to being surrounded by such people who included prostitutes and drunkards or those regarded as insignificant.

Therefore in his public ministry he did not shun such people and had the reputation of being among them. Jesus came for the LOST: His notable disciples and followers were

a) fishermen. This profession was a manual “lowly” one.

b) females who were ranked as second class citizens in relation to men and could not be educated. A group of women were with Jesus when he travelled from town to town.

c) Samaritans, who were of Assyrian and Israelite ancestry were despised by Jews – the first being the Samaritan woman Jesus deliberately met at the well. She received Jesus as Lord and Saviour, evangelised and many accepted Christ. She is mentioned in history as haven been a travelling missionary.

The aforementioned are examples of the lost of any gender, race and social status Jesus came to seek and save (Luke 19:10).

Jesus came for the MEEK: The woman of the Alabaster jar of oil (Matt.26:7) who anointed Jesus’ feet exemplifies the meek (humble) who will inherit the kingdom of heaven. She loved much because she had been forgiven much.

Humility before God is expressed in our actions towards Him because we acknowledge and give thanks to Him for being the source of our changed lives to the glory of God.

God is in Christ reconciling the back to Himself and He has committed unto you and I the ministry of reconciliation (John 3:16/2 Corinth. 5:19).

Brethren, this means whatever our gender, race, social or economic class background God has chosen us to be instruments of reconciliation of mankind with God. Knowing God and His attributes through Christ is the means through which we excell in the calling as ministers of reconciliation.

My prayer is that our spiritual eyes will open daily to the truths in God’s Word so that our walk with God and each other will reflect the peace and love of God.

Out of the abode of poverty, lowliness and humility our Messiah was born and arose, so that out m of the abyss of oppression, depression and lack we are reborn and arise, to receive withheld gifts of God, “beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning,

the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness”that we “might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” (Quotes Isaiah 61:3 KJV)

You are blessed, determine to stay blessed.

Their Truth Shall Be Known (honouring lifestyle intercessors)

For so long people have said their lives ignite yawns of boredom and their destinies are like skirting shadows here and there.

The code of silence bolts entry into lives ladened with potholes and ambushes at every turn…lives misunderstood..lives of the wise.

Sacrificed, they live for generations to arise out of the mud heap they languish in.

An offering for the freeing of the cursed led astray by false headlights.

There will come a time, that time of the Most High, like a sudden burst from the heavens of torrential rain when the silence will break and the purpose of their lives will be heard over mountains and across the seas.

Each as one with many faces of the man, the woman, the child… of the student, the worker and church goer…

As many a people broken, now made whole…

on a bumpy road, now made straight..

their breakthroughs are his and hers, of them becoming a people of substance living in abundance and heading into blissful eternity…

They are lifestyle intercessors, their truth shall be known, a prophetic people of fecundity.

Prayer of Thanksgiving & Praise unto God (based on Psalms 125 & 126)

Merciful Father,

We give you thanks and praise for you have delivered us from captivity, that we may sing praises to you, that our mouths may be filled with laughter.
People see what you have done and say among themselves “the LORD has done great things for them” (Ps.126:2).

May some who are enemies be like Rahab LORD and turn from their wicked ways, when they hear of your might and power in our lives.

May they show us favour and accept your Right Hand and be set free, washed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

We are more than conquerors!

We give you thanks and praise! We shout for joy because “the LORD has done great things for us and we are glad” (Ps. 126:3).

When we sowed in tears there were times when we thought that we would never overcome.

But how dare we, for we serve a God who is oh so faithful, one who never changes. He is the same yesterday today and forever more.

You said in your word “those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever.”(Ps 125:1).

We trust you LORD!

You are our Protector, always surrounding us as the mountains surround Jerusalem.

Father you decreed that “the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous” (Ps.125:3).

You have preserved us from evil, from the decrees of the powers of darkness by your mighty power.

May your presence abide with us forever more!

In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.

Ode to the Holy Spirit

(google pic)

Come Holy Spirit, walk with me and talk to me.

Where you are there is liberty because you are the strong Arm that guides and protects me.

In your presence I am released from bondage and the armies of hell cannot prevail
against me, nor can the hordes of Satan arise and oppress me.

Come Holy Spirit, walk with me and talk to me.

You show me how and what to pray and as swords of deliverance are the songs of
worship you put in my mouth.

Where you are, there is liberty because you empower me, not just to live for Christ but to be like him in thought, word and deed.

“…The LORD is Spirit and where the Spirit of the LORD is there is Liberty” (2 Corinth. 3:17)

Happiness is Knowing… Almighty God Brings Peace

Microsoft Bing Pic

Happiness is indeed knowing that God brings peace. Receive God’s Peace like a River in and through you!

I pray for God’s peace to flow in a never ending manner like a river that forms tributaries into the recesses of your soul (mind, intellect and emotions) so that you would experience a perpetual Sabbath rest of the LORD.

In this place, you will receive revelation from the LORD directly and through His Word so that out of you shall flow rivers of living waters quenching the spiritual thirst of dry souls and hearts making a people ready for the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

There is no peace like God’s peace. Attempts at world peace without God as the source is just a charade and superficial for sooner or later confusion and chaos sets in. This is why Jesus explicitly distinguished his peace from that of the world when he said such comforting words

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27KJV)

As a believer in Christ you have His mind which means your mind or thoughts are focused on God. You therefore have access to God’s peace (Is.26:3) which is perfect.

God speaks His peace in every situation of your life, however He requires that you do not “again turn to folly” (Ps 85:8).

To live a life in God’s perpetual peace, He wants you to know that you need to be determined to overcome anxiety. How? Prayer to God concerning all things (Phil 4:6), while praying be thankful of what you have already received from Him.

If you can’t think of anything in a moment how about your life? Your caring child, spouse, family or your job ? Also trust Him once you have prayed. It is only after you have done this that

“…the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”(Phil 4:7)

God of Peace be with you!

POEM: RECEIVE THE MASTER’S PEACE

Be anxious for nought and pray for what you ought. God’s peace will unfold as a treat, if a slave to worry you are not.
Peace like a barging river, shall knock down fortes of deceit in your heart to cause the enemy to retreat.
Peace like a fighter plane shall land on the combat fields of your soul to dethrone the Prince of this World, end the cycle of disorder to commence divine order.
A peace foreign to this world in chaos because it knows not it’s Master and his ethos.

Who is it’s Master?
He is the Prince of Peace who saith to his own “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you”.
On a mount he sat and taught
“blessed are the peacemakers they shall be called children of God” So be blessed, not stressed.
Do not retaliate but demonstrate his love to haters.
Trade anger with prayer for users and live to unite dividers. With your mates create colonies in a bond of peace and be the harmonies to iron out melodious creases.
Blessed vessel of peace, wrestle for the increase of God’s government and peace to have no end.

(Isaiah 9:6-7, Phil 4:6-7 Matt.5:43-48, John 14:27)
