The Prodigal’s Return: Speaking to Father

Your conviction was maddening and your silence was heart wrenching, I could no longer take the suffering.
When you turned your face away from mine distorted with sin, I knew not what to do.

My life was a  wreck and then began a game of hide and seek.
You hid, pulling away it seems as I desperately held onto your feet.

I searched for you among religions of ancient and modern civilisations, but find you I did not.

A semblance of you evoked by chants, said to be god in me appeared, but to me a figment of man’s imagination. If the lie as a pill was swallowed, a puffed up ego, a beast I was to be.

A peace of sorts felt was naught but an import from dead emotions, a self convincing fabrication.

After time that felt like eternity but to you merely a blink of the eye, your mercy appeared, as the dawning of a new day.
Your power and peace as mighty warriors I knew from bygone years fought off my captors, teaching my hands to war and delivering me from all my fears.
Once again I developed a lasting hunger for the meat of your Word and an unquenchable thirst for the living waters of your Spirit.
Once again and forevermore, I feel your presence and the warmth of your embrace.

Who makes you so fine?

I love the fine things in life. Do you? When something is fine, it means it is of superior quality or appearance. When someone is described as fine it means they are of excellent character or ability.

The finest thing to do in life is to know and commune with Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. Who can place a charge against you living such a life in Christ? All fines have been paid for! Christ died and with him all that is of the old nature in us died with him.

No amount of make up, beautiful designer clothes, an aura of elegance and superior upbringing can hide flaws in character and attitude. God is concerned about our heart condition before Him and as we receive the transformation and therefore the fineness in personality terms that only He can give, we can then truly manifest as his Ambassadors and our fruit will affirm we are truly His representatives.

There is no life that is without fineness when immersed in the Holy Spirit and responds to the Spirit’s conviction. This fineness is evidenced in the character that manifests the fruit of the spirit and emulates the compassion of Christ in every way.

Therefore brethren, if someone were to ask you “sister/brother what makes you so fine?”, remember to use this as an opportunity to testify “Jesus is the one who makes me fine, for I am crucified with Christ, this life that I live is not my own, I live through the Son of God who died and gave his life for me”.
Have a blessed day

Part 1 The Question of failures/affliction – is it always the fault of the devil, me or both?
What we reap out of life as children of God is determined by our heart condition before God, and how we relate to people.

“37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”(Matt.22:37-40).

If there is always a cycle of failure or defeat in certain areas, let us not suddenly or immediately blame the devil (He gets too much credit) or have a “pity party” let us re-examine our hearts before God HONESTLY!!

If we have done all that we have to do and discern from God it is indeed the devil at work, then let’s rise up in prayer or spiritual warfare against his evil schemes. We must believe that we have overcome satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony as children of God (Rev 12:11). We are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us (Romans 8:37).

In addition, if we refuse to live in denial, blaming everyone else including the devil and rather humble ourselves and self examine, allowing the Holy Spirit to convict us, we may also realise that we have had a part to play in what is happening.

There could be unrepented sin against God and/or man. If we repent (1 John 1:9) and determine to change our ways (perhaps there is something we need to do -an action, let’s do it in obedience to God) with the help of the Holy Spirit we are sure to see circumstances change to the glory of God in those areas of our lives we have been experiencing defeat or affliction.
Indeed God needs our cooperation to “iron out the creases”, end the cycle of defeat and fulfil His will in our lives. Let us partner with Him wholeheartedly.

You are blessed, determine to stay blessed!

PLAIN SPEAKING & COUNSEL: Seeking sustained “Apple of God’s eye” victorious Christian living?Use the Primary Davidic Key.

Plain-Speaking-1However offensive it may be and you instantly feel lied about, never dismiss the highlighting of your character flaws or sins. There are many ways this may occur. One way this happens often times is through people’s criticisms whether directly or heard through gossip. Instead of instant dismissal of what hurts, hesitate a moment, take it to God in prayer and honestly take time to self assess or examine.

Ask yourself the following questions: Is there a need for repentance or a change in mindset, attitude and rhetoric?

Exposure of certain areas of our lives that are not pleasing to God may occur in a brutal manner and this is perhaps because God has been trying to get our attention to change our ways for so long but we have ignored Him.
If on examination you allow yourself to face up to the fact that some of the criticism is true and repent before God, humbly decide to ask someone for forgiveness if need be and to take steps towards changing your ways, then you would have indeed passed the test!
The key to our breakthrough and entering a blessed era in our lives depends on how we respond to the exposure of character flaws and sins that were ignored by us, or are subtle that only a major offence could expose.

There is a pearl of great price hidden in an often unattractive shell and many times oil of great worth is found on barren or uncultivated land.

Indeed the state of things are not always as they appear. Likewise unpleasant situations that point at our flaws, sins and even exaggerates them are not what we would expect to make a way for us to be blessed and ultimately to be a blessing to others.

But a way is truly made when we acknowledge our sins and repent before God (1 John 1:9). In seeking God and abiding in Him we see the depth of truth in relation to a situation and the resolution for us in terms of our character transformation; They unfold as a budding stem whose petals open and expand delightfully in full bloom.

Even if we find that we are completely innocent, the fact that we have the attitude of being ones that are quick to self examine and ready to repent as David (Psalm 19:13-14, 51 and 139:23-24) is in itself pleasing to God and we will forever be the apple of His eye as David who became the King of Israel.

The Apostle James expressed the intrinsic value of the “Jewel of great worth” that is character transformation when we respond to trials in the God desired manner! (Joyfully because we know God is at work! He is in control!) as follows: “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience.4But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (James 1:2-4 KJV).

Therefore brethren, I encourage you to find the “Jewel of great worth” for your advancement and success in life in every affliction and offensive situation so as to confuse and put your enemies to shame and to delight your supporters and most of all Father God.
This Jewel is your transformed character by Master Potter God Almighty but requires the Davidic “quick to self examine & ready to repent” mindset and attitude primary key. It is the key that served to sustain a cycle of unlocking the pathway “doors” that led to David fulfilling his destiny and becoming the King of Israel to the Glory of God.

It is the same key necessary to fulfil your destiny and mine too, so let us humbly use it day by day.
You are blessed, determine to stay blessed!
