Get Ready, the Bridegroom Cometh!

I believe in Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God. A Son unlike any other who left his throne to became as you and I.
Walking among a crowd, he healed, taught and mended broken lives. Many believed, some doubted, but he stopped not his mandate for mankind.

Have you ever heard of a Son such as this, a man of this kind?

Have you seen one so pure and true? One who is impartial and kind.

A lover of all; rich, poor, the Jew and gentile?

He finished his work when he died and ascended to his throne. Now seated, the King makes intercession for co-heirs now and those to come.

Are you on a risky tightrope between heaven and hell with your gaze set on that place where sorrow untold with everlasting chains awaits?

Or are you ready for the Bridegroom when he comes?

As a bright lamp full of oil, keep your soul ready and ablaze. There is still time to prepare for the King, so live not in uncertainty or in a maze.

Poem of Hope & Restoration (storytelling series): God brings dreams to Pass

Up and down the land she walked, as a wanderer seeing naught and feeling lost, she sighed and cried “I have stalled ‘cause of the fog and drought”.
Even within, she felt barren and dry wanting to pray but too weak to try. Then came a light so bright before her face, but looking around she saw no one in that place. Within her heart, she heard a voice say loud & clear

“I am the Light of the World who loves you, my dear”. Then he placed a fountain in her heart and said “Out of you shall flow rivers of living water to quench your thirst, so you shall never falter”.

Then suddenly her heart became a well watered verdant land, from her mouth was a melodious waterfall, and her eyes were awash with God’s salve to never falter or fall.

The bright ray of the morning sun hit her face so hard she covered her eyes and exclaimed “my, what a dream so real!”

The dream spoke of God’s Light, His love and the River of Life, a picture of what is to come, a revelation of God’s delivering might and abundant promises day and night.

Now strengthened, newly enlightened, no more doubtful, newly hopeful, she knew that she could cope with every trial whatever the scope, for her heart was now full of hope, because of Him who said

“I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.(1)”

Poem in soon to be published book: A Divine World: Purposeful Christian Storytelling in Poetry & Prose

Mended & Raised Up for His Glory

I woke up one morning thinking “Jesus mends nets”. I remembered that Jesus called James and John at the time when they were with their father in their fishing boat mending their nets (Math.4:21).Jesus’ purpose was to “mend” their lives by making them his disciples so that they would in turn “mend” other people’s lives, by becoming fishers of men. He is continuing God the Father’s “Mending Nets” business today through the power of the Holy Spirit in all the earth and at work within born again believers.

What do “nets” symbolically mean here? Our capabilities, mindsets, attitudes and emotions that have been afflicted or tattered by the enemy, whether before we become Christians or even during our Christian walk. This could have been either at home, school, church or work.

Some of these afflictions are from childhood through to adulthood because of what people did to us, also how we responded as well as what we were taught which has influenced our way of thinking, attitudes and understanding. Jesus came to do what he saw the Father doing or what God gave him the authority to do. His “mending nets” business is clearly expressed and summarised in Isaiah 61:1-3:

“1The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. 2He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. 3To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair.  In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory. “(NLT)..

Such people, having been “mended” will be called in service as “menders” or rebuilders. As Jesus, their destinies are also expressed as follows: Isaiah 61:4:
4They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities destroyed long ago. They will revive them, though they have been deserted for many generations. (NLT).

Another scripture that comes to mind is Acts 10:38
“And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (NLT).

In addition to healing the sick, the “Good” is all that Father God told Jesus to do in order to “mend” lives such as teachings (i.e perfecting the Law of Moses, how to pray), deliverance of the demon possessed and spending time with society’s rejects so that they know they are loved and valued. Jesus’ “mending” (restoring or rebuilding) business as we know is necessary for us to be saved and then grow to maturity as children of God, thus capable of fulfilling our God given identities and destinies. We each have a part to play in the Body of Christ and the world at large. Some people have found their God given purpose in life, some are on the way to doing so and others don’t have a clue. There are also those who think they do one day, but then they are not sure the next day!

Whatever category you fall into, know that God is at work in you however it may feel like or appear, to take you to even greater depths in your relationship with Him than you are experiencing right now. I sense God wants you to know that as long as you stay in His Word through study and obedience daily, you will receive all that He has for you and will fulfil your God given purpose. He will abide with you as you abide with Him (John 14:21,23).

The heavenly portals of revelation knowledge, wisdom and understanding will be open to you because of your obedience and faithfulness. This is my encouragement to you as I do to myself, that you would live a life of worship, singing praises unto God in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Pray fervently for all things at all times, always be determined to trust God giving thanks regardless of the circumstance and do all you can to live at peace with others, loving them as God loves you.

From experience, I know forgiveness is difficult, but if you are struggling be honest before God about the pain you have suffered and tell Him how you are finding it difficult to forgive but because you desire to obey His command that you forgive you choose to do so and ask for His supernatural power to enable this desire to be a reality. Nothing is impossible for our God,
Having “mended” us through salvation and raised us up, God is always on the look out for tears to our “nets”, the sooner we allow Him to mend then the better because the effective fulfilment of our mission is dependant on our wholeness.

Yeshua Heals the Broken-Hearted & Sets the Captives Free

(Redemption Testimonial)

It was the bleak mid winter and it felt the same within his heart, as day after day the memories flooded his mind with such force, that he was drowning in despair and wept until his voice was hoarse.

The young man was feeling crushed ’cause once again his efforts were trashed.

Every time he thought he was in the money, it was like there was a hole in his bag of cash.

In his love life things were the same for his advances made no difference as many a woman would shrug and walk away, as if to say “you’re not my type, you’re a mug!’

He remembered the days when he sought fame and had friends in high places with whom he bet at the races. He tried to be like them but his photo shoots were returned with the message “sorry mate, modelling is not your fate!”

So he auditioned to sing and also thought acting was his thing, but his agent came back to say

“they say try something else ’cause acting and singing are not your thing!”

He was classed among world losers, subject to many teasers, state allowances and family loan advances.

Rejected and dejected, he cried “no one would care if I self-ejected!”

There was a knock on the door and in came his brother in law, handing him a Bible he said

“heard your voice message, let’s hear God’s voice in this life giving message.”

That was me ten years ago, I am no longer under the law,

but saved by Grace, thanks to my brother in law, no longer fired up with envy, but ignited with God’s power and street savvy for the redeemer.

I married a woman, sent by God who says “blessed be the Lord, He sent a man who’s my type!”

We hand out bibles for the harvest is ripe and preach the Gospel every season to deliver men from strife and treason against God’s Son,

Christ the King. For this reason, hear me one and all, Christ will do for you what he did for me, promised when he said:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.

He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.(1)”

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! (Isaiah 52:7KJV)

Happiness is Knowing…because of Emmanuel no adverse situation is permanent

(prefer to listen? Click on picture above)

Jesus said to his disciples that he will suffer many things at the hands of the chief priests and Pharisees and be slain but he will rise again in three days (Luke 9:22). His death was not permanent Selah!

Jesus is also saying to his present day disciples that every deadness in absolutely any area of our lives, is not permanent.

Praise the Lord! But wait. There is a condition and one that is beyond confessing with our mouth and believing in our hearts that Jesus Christ is our LORD and SAVIOUR (Romans 10:9-10).

In order for this transition from adversity to consistent blessedness marked by answered prayers and supernatural peace and intimacy with God, the act of sacrificial living is required. This is summed up in Jesus’ words “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.” (Luke 9:23-26 KJV).

Are we ready to be bold witnesses of Christ in a world that hates him and suffer hatred, mockery, persecution and even death in Christlikeness?

A life lived with Christ at the centre inevitably means trouble in the world, but no situation is permanent!

Brethren, let us be reminded of God’s numerous words of comfort to His children that even though we are in the world we are not of it (John 15:19) and also that we will not be harmed when we go through adversities likened to “water” or “fire” (Isaiah 43:2) because God is with us.

In addition, the psalmist testifies of what is the entitlement of all who belong to God:

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. (Psalms 138:7 ESV)”.

The seasons of life are forever changing as the times in a day and climatic seasons. When evening came, Jesus said to his disciples “Let us pass over unto the other side”(Mark 4:35 KJV)”.

The crossing over to the other side in the above verse by God’s decree was not in the morning nor the afternoon but in the evening. The evening was the appointed time for the miraculous!

Each of us has seasonal miraculous times in life and our ability to attain our miracles from God depends on whether we will decide to “pass over to the other side” with Christ. Will we allow him to lead us in the power of the Holy Spirit to where he wants us to be physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally?

When we are in Christ, the “other side” is a place of provision, opposite to the place of lack. The “other side” is a place of peace opposite to the place of turmoil. Praise God that when we abide in Christ no adverse situation in life is permanent!

In the transitional period to the “other side” of God’s blessed promises we are often tested; Will we forget Christ is in our “boat” of life and start panicking? When he appears to be “asleep” or not present, do we tend to doubt him and like his disciples cry out “..do you not care that we are perishing?”(Mark 4:38 ESV).

Remember Jesus said “us” when he said to the disciples “Let us pass over to the other side” (Mark 4:35 KJV). He will not send us anywhere, where he is not willing to go with us. Jesus Chris is Emmanuel (meaning God with us) (Matt.1:23).

Brethren, this is why Christ, not wanting to leave his disciples as orphans following his ascension, prayed to Father for the Spirit also known as Comforter to abide with us forever” (John 14:16).

The Holy Spirit within a believer in Christ ensures adverse situations are not permanent because the Spirit is the same that rose Christ from the dead and gives us the powerful life of God in their mortal bodies (Romans 8:11).

The Holy Spirit indeed testifies of Jesus Christ (John 15:26) who said

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25 ESV).

Precious saints, let us give thanks and praise to God that because Emmanuel lives we live in the seasonal realm of the “pass over”.

“Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” (Psalm 30:5 NLT) Hallelujah!

A Miracle-filled Life is Yours!

A Miracle-filled Life is Yours!

Sometimes we may be going through difficulties and not know where to turn. Let us be reminded that we have a God who is “our refuge & strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psa.46:1). He also said in His Word that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5).

He is the same God who miraculously prevented Daniel and his friends from burning in the furnace (Daniel 6) and who answered the prayer of the saints on behalf of Peter so that he was miraculously released from prison (Acts 12). He is also the same God who came to earth as Christ through a miraculous birth, so that the inheritance of His people Israel would be extended to anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. If Jesus Christ is not your Lord and Saviour it is not too late, there is a miraculous life awaiting you!

He is also the God who never forgets your faithfulness to Him; many have toiled and laboured and some times wonder when they will either be healed from a particular sickness or receive answers to certain prayers which would change their situation for the better.

In fact some of you have been waiting on God through prayer for the fulfilment of prophecies spoken over your lives. “When LORD! when” is your desperate cry! But God is saying there are things that have to take place first and as you stay close to Him, He will give you understanding. Patience and perseverance in the place of worship regardless of the circumstance is what God is calling us all to.

Be encouraged today! In Christ a miraculous life is guaranteed!

In Him:

In the holy place

we seek His face,

there He appears to

wipe away our tears.

In our hearts

we call His name,

there flows His fountain

that heals our pain.

In Him

no more tears,

no more pain.
