Prayer of Thanksgiving & Praise unto God (based on Psalms 125 & 126)

Merciful Father,

We give you thanks and praise for you have delivered us from captivity, that we may sing praises to you, that our mouths may be filled with laughter.
People see what you have done and say among themselves “the LORD has done great things for them” (Ps.126:2).

May some who are enemies be like Rahab LORD and turn from their wicked ways, when they hear of your might and power in our lives.

May they show us favour and accept your Right Hand and be set free, washed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

We are more than conquerors!

We give you thanks and praise! We shout for joy because “the LORD has done great things for us and we are glad” (Ps. 126:3).

When we sowed in tears there were times when we thought that we would never overcome.

But how dare we, for we serve a God who is oh so faithful, one who never changes. He is the same yesterday today and forever more.

You said in your word “those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever.”(Ps 125:1).

We trust you LORD!

You are our Protector, always surrounding us as the mountains surround Jerusalem.

Father you decreed that “the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous” (Ps.125:3).

You have preserved us from evil, from the decrees of the powers of darkness by your mighty power.

May your presence abide with us forever more!

In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.

Merciful God,
My heart is overwhelmed for
you came down from your majestic throne as a Man of war leading your armies and broke through the fortress of my imprisonment,
the cage of my captivity.

You battled the hordes of hell, the powers of darkness, in the abyss of deception and the trenches of affliction.

You took hold of the horned Prince of darkness and hurled him out of my way and lifted me up, washed me clean and set me along your glorious path.

Your wonders to perform.
Your acts to make known.
Your works to declare.
Your will to be done.

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
