Authority in Christ!

“Then he [Jesus] called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. Then he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.”
(Luke 9:1-2)

“And he [Jesus] said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:18-19)

To Jesus, my Merciful Advocate

In the sound of each lash
endured for my sake I hear
“Go you are made whole”

At the sight of your torn flesh
I see upon you my offence to
relieve me from self defence.

In the pouring of your blood my
righteousness as filthy rags is
washed clean.

In your death was my death.
At your resurrection I arose.
In your Law that governs my new life
is my acquittal from the Law of sin and death.

Thank you Jesus, Most Merciful Advocate.

“1…if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. 2He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.” (1 John 2:1-2 NLT)
